DFEH Sues Delta Cultivators for Sexually Harassing Women

Here are some ugly accusations from a lawsuit filed by DFEH against Delta Cultivators, a labor contractor. According to this story, Delta Cultivators had two employees who sexually harassed women and who made comments like this: “Mexicans are 5 cents a month.”

Charming. The head honchos at Delta Cultivators must be so proud.

But the allegations don’t stop there. One employee participated in a sexual attack and another sent a sexually graphic email to one target’s cell phone.

And it just goes on from there.

Apparently the women were undocumented workers because Delta employees threatened to have them deported.

Reasonable people can agree to disagree on the illegal immigration issue, but that does not excuse abusing undocumented workers. Unfortunately there are lots of bad employers out there who take advantage of undocumented workers thinking the victims will be too scared to report their disgusting behavior.

If these allegations are true, I hope Delta Cultivators has to write a big check.

And finally, I think all of us on both sides of the immigration issue agree that the people we would like to see deported are the boors at Delta Cultivators and their ilk.
